Description  

Norfolk Wildlife Trust is the county's largest environmental charity, working for the protection and enhancement of Norfolk's wildlife and wild places.

Over the next year NWT is committing resources to significantly develop our engagement strategy to look at the best way NWT can inspire, support and enable individuals and communities to assist with nature's recovery in Norfolk.

This post will assist with the development and sustainable growth of our community engagement activities. Through this developmental year, the Wildlife and Community Officer will work with the Senior Community Engagement Officer to better understand the different audiences that make up Norfolk; trial pilot projects to help inform how NWT can further stimulate and support community wildlife action; run a programme of training and networking opportunities; provide advice and support on managing community land with wildlife in mind and develop online resources to support individuals and communities taking action for wildlife.

The successful candidate for this post will have a good understanding of community engagement including event organisation and management; experience of habitat surveying and leading practical conservation tasks; knowledge in basic habitat management principles and an ability to write simple management statements and an enthusiasm for supporting communities to take action for wildlife.
