The Role

Sussex Wildlife Trust are requesting ‘expressions of interest’ for a 10 month to 1 year fix termed contract (secondments are welcomed). The role is to fulfill the Wilder Landscapes Manager Role, the responsibilities and the person specification for which are to be found in the job description.  Priority responsibilities are shown in bold.

This is an exciting role within Sussex Wildlife Trust, managing staff and existing projects whilst championing nature based solutions both within the organisation and with stakeholders across Sussex.

The Person

You will need to have significant experience of managing projects and staff. An excellent of knowledge ecological systems and processes, relevant to the Sussex landscape, including rewilding, nature based solutions and natural capital.  You will have excellent understanding of the role of beavers as ecosystem engineers in the landscape.  The successful candidate will be an experienced landowner advisor with a sound understanding of the delivery mechanisms and processes for their recommendations. You will provide leadership and management to a small dedicated team and be a team player who can operate and make decisions independently. With a proactive and flexible attitude to work, you will need to work some evenings, weekends and unsociable hours as required.
