Description

Scottish Wildcat Action is a 5 year project running to 31st March 2020. It works in 6 priority wildcat areas to halt the decline of Scottish wildcats by reducing the threats that are currently limiting the population – hybridisation and disease transmission from feral and domestic cats, accidental persecution and impacts from development.

You’ll act as point of contact for the project for two of the six wildcat priority areas and will be therefore involved in all strands of the project, i.e. land management; TNVR; communication and monitoring along with a specialist subject area. Working with land management organisations and land managers, you’ll promote land management methods that help conserve the Scottish wildcat. You’ll also work with volunteers to monitor cat populations and conduct trap, neuter, vaccinate and return of feral cats and hybrids into two priority areas.

An expert in land management, you’ll be able to work independently as well as collaborating closely with colleagues in the project. A sound communicator, you’ll be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

For further information and to apply, please contact Roo Campbell, Scottish Wildcat Action Priority Areas Project Manager on 01463 725 130; roo.campbell@snh.gov.uk

Closing date for applications: 12th May 2017.
