Based within the Natural Environment Research Council, the UKRI Environmental Sustainability Manager will play a key role within the newly created UKRI Sustainability Team to provide support for environmental performance reporting, project management, internal and external advisory and employee engagement and training to deliver the UKRI Environmental Sustainability Strategy. 

You will be responsible for administering cross-UKRI Environmental Sustainability advisory groups and forums, ensuring that meetings are well-organised, attended, appropriate records of decisions, actions are recorded and communicated.

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of UKRI Environmental Sustainability performance reporting to time and quality requirements, including collection, collation, analysis and presentation of information to support decision-making.

You will work with Communications colleagues to devise and implement staff engagement programmes to help embed better sustainable behaviour e.g. energy efficiency, waste reduction and smarter travel choices across our estates.

You will need:

  • A degree or comparable experience within an environmental or sustainability field.
  • Excellent management and organisational skills, to be able to effectively prioritise work and balance changing workloads.
  • Experience of development and delivery of staff engagement activity.
  • To be able to use your own initiative and have good problem-solving skills. 
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain strong working relationships with senior leadership and a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external.
