IMPORTANT: This Advertiser has requested that applicants MUST be National Residents / Valid Work Permit-holders. Other applicants need not apply.
You have significant project management experience, able to work quickly and efficiently across a portfolio of projects with minimal supervision. You will have a broad working knowledge of the planning process and understanding of good highway design and how this can be embedded in new developments. You may not be a qualified engineer or planner, however you will be comfortable reading scheme plans and understanding the potential pros and cons for different road users of any given highway design. You will be able to skilfully communicate your knowledge and point of view to colleagues, developers, councillors and the public through written reports and verbal presentations. Working with our partners HB Law and Hounslow Highways you will be able to competently manage the progression and completion of legal documents (notably section 106 and section 278 agreements) that are associated with mitigating highway impacts following planning consent. Above all you will be passionate about ensuring new developments play their part in helping us achieve our challenging targets to improve safety and facilitate increases in sustainable travel modes.
In return we offer clear career progression linked to achievement of targets, opportunities for further continuing professional development (the borough is a member of the Transport Planning Society and provides support to those seeking to gain TPP qualification) and first class flexible working opportunities.
For an informal discussion about the post and the team please contact Robert.heslop@hounslow.gov.uk or 020 8583 5056.
