Description  

The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH) is a partner organisation within UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). UKRI is a new entity that brings together nine partners to create an independent organisation with a strong voice for research and innovation and a vision to ensure the UK maintains its world-leading position in research and innovation. 

CEH is part of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and is the UK's Centre of Excellence for integrated research in terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems and their interaction with the atmosphere.

About the role

CEH have got a great opportunity for a Tender Support Executive/Bid Coordinator to join the Business Development team in providing a range of business and research support activities across the organisation with the goal of increasing our financial sustainability. The team also provides material support on research proposal and tender preparation to improve the quality and outcomes of CEH bids, enable improved marketing capability, and maintain existing, and secure new customer relationships. We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual, who will also manage the day-to-day activities of our Tender Support Team.

As a Tender Support Executive, you will be responsible for tracking opportunities for grants, tenders and proposals from a range of customers across the public, private, third and international sectors and will plan, draft and coordinate responses to bids. You will need to be able to review the customer’s requirements, ensuring CEH is in the best position to be successful.

About you

You will hold a degree in an environmental or business subject plus a Master’s degree, or the equivalent level of knowledge and proven ability. You will have some bid coordination and management experience in a professional services environment, with proven skills in assessing bid competitiveness and addressing and complying with call-specific information.

As a Team Lead, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and others within and outside the organisation. You will be able to effectively manage your team, customers and partners and gather bid content from a range of stakeholders. Strong writing and proof reading skills are vital and expertise with MS Excel, Access and Power BI would be an excellent advantage.
