The Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH), part of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), is the UK’s Centre of Excellence for research in the terrestrial and freshwater environmental sciences.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join the CEH Business Development team based at the headquarters of CEH.  You will work with the Tender Support Executive to provide material support on research tender preparation to improve the quality and outcomes of CEH proposals and enable improved marketing capability, maintaining existing and securing new, customer relationships.  We are now seeking an excellent administrator to support this ongoing initiative.

Specific tasks will include:

•    Support to Principal Investigators, Business Development Managers and the Tender Support Executive to include:
o    Collate content from Business Development Managers, Principal Investigators and  external partners into EoI, PQQ, tender and grant submissions
o    Update and maintain all standard company information requirements for tenders
o    Create and update CVs for use in tender submissions
o    Create and update CEH capability statements
o    Proof reading tenders to ensure compliance and excellence

•    Establish and maintain CEH’s organisational profile on bidding portals
•    Organisation of tender documentation, maintaining comprehensive records for the bid management process
      o Produce monthly funding news summaries for CEH staff

Skills and qualifications required
You will hold a good degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent professional experience.
You will have effective IT skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint – Access desirable)
It is essential that you provide a responsive and efficient approach to the delivery of services and prepare and proof read to produce high quality written material.
Previous administrative experience in a professional services environment within a sales/business development team would be desirable
You will possess excellent communication and problem solving skills with the ability to work independently when necessary
