About The Team

You are looking to start your career in Civil Engineering and Transport and will have a real interest in how we can improve the performance of our streets and public realm.  You will have excellent proven ICT skills, ideally with some working knowledge of specialist engineering and traffic management software packages including Autocad and ParkMap as well as Microsoft Office and GIS packages.  You will have good written and verbal communication skills and will be confident meeting and dealing with the public.  Above all you will be passionate about working collaboratively as part of an innovative team to develop the highway network in Hounslow to achieve our challenging targets to improve safety and facilitate increases in sustainable travel modes.

Key Responsibilities

  • to develop, implement and monitor traffic & transport schemes across the borough
  • undertake consultations on schemes and analyse responses, presenting the results to senior managers and elected members.

Your skills

  • proven ICT skills, preferably in relevant applications such as autocad, parkmap or GIS
  • excellent written and oral communication skills.

Essential for the Role

Minimum HND in civil engineering, comparable qualification (e.g. a diploma/degree in physical or social science subject) or commensurate experience.

The council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
