TECHNICAL LEAD (ECOLOGY)

Permanent position

Full time 40 hours

Location UK

Hybrid: Fieldwork, office and home

Offices in Oakham, Matlock and Reading (Swallowfield)

The Role

We are recruiting a skilled and authoritative Technical Lead/Senior Ecologist with the associated degree or 8+ years in-depth knowledge and experience in ecology, in relevant legislation and policy, and experience in multi-disciplinary ecological consultancy.

To be successful you should have previous consultancy experience and be proficient in writing and delivering UKHab, PRA’, PEA’, BNG assessments, EcIAs, and licence applications to the highest standards. You should also be passionate about expanding your current understanding of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NCIPs) and how these relate to our services.

You will be working in close collaboration with the Principal Ecologist supporting and giving advice to the Ecology Team and ensuring that all documents issued are of the highest quality. You will have a background in working with ecological and environmental licences, habitat and species surveys, impact assessments, biodiversity mitigation and offsetting and enhancement.

You will help develop the vision for ER, will need to be self-motivated and passionate about the environment and our impact upon it.
