Description

Following its successful application for funding to deliver the development phase of a Parks for People project for Sydney Gardens, Bath and North East Somerset’s Parks’ service are looking to recruit a Project Manager to oversee the development of a round two application for the project.

Sydney Gardens, a popular urban park in the centre of Bath, is thought to be the only remaining 18th century pleasure garden in the UK: once popular with Jane Austen the site is a grade II listed feature in its own right and home to a number of important listed structures and features.

The Project Manager will lead a small team in the process of preparing a second round Parks for People bid: overseeing specialist architects and other consultants, undertaking an exciting programme of community engagement and volunteer work, supporting and informing a project Steering Group and reporting to the Lottery and other funders on project progress.

This is a fixed term project to September 2018, with a possibility of extension to 2021 subject to ongoing HLF funding and performance review.

The successful applicant will be an experienced project manager with a proven track record of delivering successful large Heritage Lottery or other grant funded capital programmes. They will also have experience managing large (c. £3 million) budgets, will have a demonstrable ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to meet agreed deadlines and will have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
