Description

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated person looking to take your first steps into a sustainable development career?

Bore Place, an education and sustainability charity with a venue at its heart, is excited to offer a 3 or 12 month paid internship programme to a young person looking to start their career. We are looking for someone with a good work ethic, a commitment to achieving sustainable development in practice, a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to provide stand-out service for our visitors.

We are looking for someone willing to make either a 3 or 12 month commitment and in return we will pay you up to £9,675 (depending on age and experience) and provide you with flexible working, free parking and 28 days holiday per year (including bank holidays), as well as a programme of training and development to ensure that, at the end of your time with us, you will have acquired a set of skills that will set you up for the next step in your career.

The role is for 35 hours per week and will be split into two parts. 20 hours per week will be spent working in our venue and housekeeping team, providing exceptional levels of service to the guests using our venue. This will give you hands-on experience working as part of a fantastic team and learning the basics of running a venue with a sustainability focus. The remaining 15 hours will be spent training with practical experience developing sustainable business practises for a range of business areas. Working alongside other members of the team and our Director, you will learn the inside workings of an organisation committed to inspiring people of all ages to connect with nature and the countryside, food, farming and sustainability and developing its own practises to demonstrate best in class environmental management. We will design the 15 hour training programme with you to meet your career interests.

Bore Place is situated on an organic dairy farm, has its own organic market garden which provides therapeutic vocational training for young people, educates over 5,000 children a year via its events and education programmes and also hosts corporate groups, weddings and other functions.

Due to our rural location you’ll need to be able to arrange your own transport here.
