Inspiring, informing, empowering – working for wildlife.

Role Profile

ZSL is seeking a highly credible and collaborative individual to be our new Sustainability Manager, who will provide operational support to develop, implement and manage ZSLs sustainability and carbon reduction plans. Reporting directly to the Principal Lead, Estates and Masterplanning (PLE&M) the successful candidate will lead the operation of ZSL’s Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring compliance and reaccreditation and deliver against action plan targets set within the EMS.

The Sustainability Manager will build strong relations nationally and internationally with staff and external stakeholders, supported by the PLE&M. This will include partnering with all parts of ZSL (Institute of Zoology, Conservation Programmes and Zoo’s) and providing technical support, environmental training, audit and reporting support. The Sustainability Manager will  attend external events representing ZSL (as and when needed), ensure our robust sustainability initiatives are successful and ensure our control measures are upheld across the society. The successful candidate will ideally possess excellent people and project-management skills, and be able to plan and keep track of multiple projects while constantly evaluating the business environment for opportunities and threats.
