Description |
|
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Site Services Manager to work within the Facilities team at our Edinburgh site.
We are seeking a suitable candidate to provide timely, flexible and responsive support to the Facilities Manager in the effective and efficient provision of Facilities to the local science and infrastructure community, within the policies, procedures and processes corporately agreed.
Specific areas of Responsibility
- Day to day management of 4 x Facilities Support staff (B8) and 1 X Engineer (B7)
- Day to day operational management of in-house facilities (incl. Reception, post, access & security systems, transport fleet, etc.)
- Day to day operational liaison with and induction of service contractors (incl. Cleaning, Security, Landscape Gardening) and remedial project contractors, including attending contractor meetings when required.
- Day to day management of site Facilities H&S and Environmental requirements (incl. Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Works, Environmental returns, Fleet vehicle returns)
- Management of the agreed delegated part of Site Facilities budget (£120k) and undertaking and monitoring appropriate procurement and receipting purchase order function.
- Act as Deputy Fire and Security Officer
- Provide support to and act as deputy to Facilities Manager
- Undertake and/or manage Local Induction process in respect of Facilities systems
- Liaison with internal specialist support functions (to include Personnel, Finance, IT, Estates, SSC etc.) as appropriate
- Liaison with site scientific community and external stakeholders
- Member of cross sites Engineering and Environmental ‘Focus Groups’
- Any other duties commensurate with objective of the post
Skills
Candidates should have;
- A degree with practical experience or equivalent knowledge and skills to be able to evidence strong skills in a General Office or Facilities environment;
- Project Management; Financial/Budget management; Staff Management and use of Microsoft Office.
- Specifically knowledge and proven ability in the following areas are essential:
- Health and Safety, and Environmental requirements as applicable to Facilities areas
- Service Contractor management
- Business Procurement processes for goods & services
Full training would be given on specific processes and systems
Standards
Responsibilities to be completed within:
- Legal obligations (to specifically include H&S and Environmental legislation; Hazardous Waste; Environmental/Waste Management)
- BIFM core competencies
- Agreed Key Performance Indicators and H&S Standards
Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week)
