A greener, more environmentally-friendly UK is possible. And we’re making it happen. As a SHEQ Advisor at SUEZ, you’ll be contributing to a recycling and resource management company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

What will I be doing as a SHEQ Advisor

SUEZ operate a number of recycling and resource management facilities across the South West of the UK and the role will require travel across Cornwall and West Devon on a regular basis. These facilities include Household Waste Recycling Centres, Transfer Stations and Material Recycling Facilities.
Provide assistance to the SHEQ Manager in promoting SHEQ compliance at operational level and instruct and coach employees at all levels on SHEQ compliance, leading on the implementation of continual improvements to SHEQ compliance and actively identify and promote SHEQ initiatives and excellence.
Managing and prioritising your own workload, you will be responsible for arranging and managing compliance meetings, assisting in the production and review of Risk Assessments and associated documentation. You will also need to interpret and implement new guidance and legislation across the region, training site managers and staff, producing documentation to satisfy legislative and management system requirements.

What are the requirements? (Experience & qualifications)

The candidate should have experience working within environmental management and / or health and safety field holding a relevant professional qualification.
Suitable candidates with qualification and experience in one discipline will be required to gain further appropriate qualifications within an acceptable period of appointment.
Experience within waste sector is desirable in order to help provide a detailed understanding of the legislative drivers of the business.
Project management skills and knowledge of Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental management systems are advantageous for the role.

The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent organisational skills, time management skills and attention to detail and have a desire to progress within a successful support team.
Must hold full clean driving licence.
