Description

The Environmental Dimension Partnership is a well-established and successful environmental planning consultancy operating throughout England and Wales, with offices based in Cardiff, Cirencester, Cheltenham and Shrewsbury. We are a broad-based practice with experience in all areas of professional ecological consultancy, as well as landscape, archaeology, arboriculture and masterplanning services. We have a small-team culture and deliver bespoke, creative solutions to our clients in the residential, commercial, energy and renewables sectors.

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic ecologist to join our successful Ecology Team. Based out of either our Cheltenham or Cirencester office, you will benefit from working with a multidisciplinary consultancy team and be expected to provide technical project inputs and/or management across a range of project sizes, types and complexities. The work is variable and exciting, with opportunities to positively influence development designs and strategies at all stages of the planning process. Working in a supportive and experienced team, EDP strives to ensure that its staff enjoy a good work-life balance, reach their full potential as professional consultants and, most of all, enjoy coming into work every day.

We are looking for a positive and solution-focussed ecologist at either Consultant, Senior or Principal level, with a relevant degree and ideally an appropriate post-graduate qualification. Proven consultancy and project management experience is key. You should be an experienced ecologist with a broad range of technical skills, being well versed in the scoping of detailed habitat and species surveys, ecological mitigation and design, European Protected Species Mitigation Licensing and consultation with Statutory Consultees.

The successful candidate will also have a sound understanding of the current planning system and environmental legislation, have, or be eligible for, Associate or Full membership with CIEEM and be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment. Including potentially playing a role in the mentoring, training and line management of junior team members, in addition to maintaining the quality of output across the team.

In addition to the right qualifications and experience, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be personable, innovative and proactive. Additionally, you should be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, and have a full, valid UK driving licence. The salary for this post is to be agreed based on qualifications and experience and will form part of an excellent benefits package, including: pension; private health insurance; 30 days annual leave allowance (+ bank holidays); free lunch; a profit share bonus scheme; generous training opportunities; and finally, lots of fun socials.

If you are interested in joining our young enthusiastic team, please send a CV and covering letter to Hannah Parkin at TeamEDP@edp-uk.co.uk.

EDP is an equal opportunities employer.
