Role Description: Senior Sustainability Consultant (Built Environment)

A fantastic career opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented sustainability professional looking for an ambitious career move. We need a senior technical consultant to oversee the delivery of commercial and domestic energy assessments, sustainability assessments and decarbonisation strategies for new build and retrofit projects. You will be instrumental in delivering complex, high value projects, as well as developing new services and client relationships.

About you
- You have extensive energy modelling experience within the built environment sector.
- You already work in a sustainability or engineering consultancy, yet looking for a new challenge within a practice at the very forefront of our field.
- You bring expertise (with a degree in engineering / science, and experience in the field) and a passion for creating sustainable solutions.
- You are a good communicator and relish being part of a dynamic, fast growing team.
- You have a true passion for sustainability and the built environment.
Essential Experience
- The successful candidate must demonstrate extensive experience with:
- Modelling a range of building types using IES
- Building Regulations Part L assessments using IES and Elmhurst (or similar)
- Developing energy and carbon strategies
- In-Use energy modelling and assessment
- Façade performance evaluation
- Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort assessments and overheating risk assessments
- Good working knowledge of Passvihaus methodology
- Appreciation of broader sustainability issues, such as; sustainability governance and reporting, sustainability strategies, climate change adaptation, behaviour change, etc.
Desirable Skills
- HVAC network modelling
- Passvihaus qualified Designer or Consultant
- OCDEA (SAP) experience
Key Duties
- Leading building performance simulation and energy related workstreams, using a range of modelling approaches, tools and techniques.
- Supporting the development of junior staff in the team, helping them to improve their understanding and skills in the energy simulation and building performance arena.
- Developing energy strategies with our clients to lead sustainability innovation on a series of developments.
- Lead and develop processes and internal working procedures.
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the team.
- Supporting the development of holistic Sustainability Strategies, where necessary.
- Development of new service offerings as the industry evolves.
- Development and maintain key client relationships.
