Are you passionate about climate change and sustainability? Do you have experience providing professional, expert advice to customers? Come and join our Sustainability team and help make a difference to the lives of our residents within West Sussex.
The purpose of the Sustainability team is to embed sustainable business practices across the organisation, increase the resilience of our corporate services, lead on the delivery of our ambition to be a carbon-neutral council by 2030, and make our council services as good as they can be. We do this through providing expert advice to promote and integrate sustainability principles and practices in the functions of the County Council by providing support and professional guidance as well as by working in partnership with other organisations to promote sustainable development principles and practices across the county.
As a Senior Sustainability Advisor, you will lead on key environment and sustainability focussed strategic partnerships across the County, to include those on climate change and air quality. You will also lead on our climate change adaptation work, to strengthen our resilience and to ensure our Council services take actions to future proof themselves against a changing climate. You will work with internal and external partners to learn lessons and share the benefits of sustainability.
