Senior Resource and Recycling Officer

The Resource and Recycling Team at the London Borough of Hounslow is looking for a highly motivated individual to develop, implement and monitor the council's strategic and corporate programmes for waste and recycling.

The Resource and Recycling Team is dedicated to commissioning waste and recycling services to meet the needs of the borough both now and in the future, developing initiatives and implementing policies to help our residents reduce their waste and increase recycling, as well as running educational and promotional campaigns to promote recycling, reuse and waste minimisation initiatives to all sections of the community.

You will need to have a keen interest in recycling and the environment, experience of managing staff and of working in the resource and recycling industry, sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, good project management and communication skills and the ability to work in partnership to develop and implement our strategies, policies and programmes in a timely manner.

As a Senior Resource and Recycling Officer you will be responsible for staff management and be an effective manager, able to delegate tasks and ensure that service plan objectives and milestones are achieved with set timeframes and budgets. You will be responsible for managing one Resource and Recycling Officer, as well as additional fixed terms posts where required.
