Natural England is seeking a highly organised and experienced land manager who can oversee the management of its six High profile and actively managed National Nature Reserves around Peterborough [Woodwalton and Holme Fen, Barnack Hills and Holes ,Collyweston and Monks Wood and Castor Hanglands].

Natural England’s aim is for a set of sites that are managed to good standards, making active contributions to conservation in the wider landscape and to Natural England’s wider objectives, and being managed in innovative and collaborative ways that help secure more supporters, volunteers and resources into looking after these highly important national assets. This postholder will play a significant role in leading our work to deliver that aim, drawing on their experience and technical skills and working collaboratively with others in Natural England and our partners. In this they will be supported by a team of reserve staff, volunteers and contractors that will be responsible for the practical management on sites. The postholder is expected to have line management responsibilities for Natural England’s reserve staff and will be accountable locally for health and safety across the group of NNRs.

This post is integral to the wider on-going restructuring of the NNR team within West Anglia – which will have the support of a part-time SRM throughout transition to the new model.
