This senior position, based in our Cork Office, requires the following attributes from the ideal candidate;
Key Responsibilities
• Senior Project Ecologist (birds specialist preferable) within Ecology team, responsible for managing projects, resources and budgets, dealing with clients, consultation with NPWS and tendering for new work.
• Field surveys e.g. conducting baseline habitat, botanical, bird and mammal (including bats) surveys etc.
• Data handling, scientific report writing and review (e.g. EIS’s, AA’s).
• A comprehensive knowledge of the relevant environmental legislation and guidelines, particularly in relation to wind farms.
Skills / Qualifications / Capabilities
• Holds an Honours degree in Ecology, Zoology, Botany or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in an ecological consultancy
• Specialist birds knowledge -field and/or technical skills key to role.
• Specialist habitat and botanical skills an advantage.
• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills required.
• Key requirements include efficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiative, experience of project management.
• Full clean Drivers Licence.
• Travel and overnight work is a requirement of the job.
