Description  

The MSC operates a leading sustainable fisheries certification, supply chain, and eco-labelling programme. Over 300 fisheries and 34,000 supply chain sites around the world are engaged with the MSC’s sustainable fishery or Chain of Custody (traceability) standards, and the programme continues to grow, and is intended to soon include a social element.

Information on the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Product Integrity Officer to join the MSC’s Chain of Custody team. This team works with seafood businesses, governments, and NGOs around the world to ensure the traceability and integrity of MSC eco-labelled products. 

You will be supporting several strategic projects focused on improving the consistency and rigour of the MSC’s global supply chain traceability programme. You will be part of an enthusiastic and talented global team, with lots of opportunities to build new skills and knowledge.  Please see the job description attached for further information.

In this role, the Product Integrity Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading on smaller projects of policy development and traceability initiatives, with appropriate oversight.

  • Monitoring the performance of CoC-certified companies and certification bodies around the world– such as analysing growth trends, investigating areas of supply chain concern or fraud, and developing training materials for certifiers and companies. 

  • Supporting development of internal IT systems and representing the team in organisational IT development to increase efficiency and prepare the organisation for sustainable growth.

  • Supporting the CoC team on strategic supply chain and traceability initiatives – carrying out specific research projects, analysing data or impact assessments. 

  • Providing administrative support for the CoC team, such as documenting actions from stakeholder meetings and coordinating team activities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated success in writing clear reports or technical documents for a range of audiences

  • Work or academic experience with traceability systems, certification standards, or food supply chains

  • Practical experience working on IT projects, such as databases, websites, or traceability systems

  • Experience in the seafood industry

  • Proven project management experience

Ideally, you will also have experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Standard development, preferably within Supply Chain/Traceability.

  • Seafood industry, food supply chains or food safety systems management

  • Quality Assurance, certification or inspection programmes

  • Managing the development or implementation of technology projects related to supply chains or auditing.

  • Fluency in at least one other language (aside from English)
