Description

Are you excited by the opportunity to bring engaging stories surrounding sustainable fishing to life, and sharing them with the public?

The MSC UK & Ireland team is looking for a Senior PR and Media Manager to help design and deliver its PR and Media strategy in our UK and Irish markets. We want you to help fish and seafood communities that are certified sustainable to be celebrated and have their stories shared with the public and our wider stakeholder community.

This Senior PR and Media Manager post connects with many areas of the MSC’s work. Your working week will be varied, while one day you could be meeting with one of the UK’s biggest retailers discussing their story-telling opportunities surrounding sustainable fish, the next you could be developing ocean content for publishing on the UK team’s website, that celebrates one of our dedicated fisheries or committed partners.

One of the key rewards of this role is making that connection between MSC certified sustainable fisheries and the consumers that are purchasing them. Producing engaging and impactful content, whether that be telling the stories of our UK & Irish Fishing communities, conveying the latest science and innovations, or celebrating a new brand commitment; this role will give the opportunity for a broad scope of this exciting subject matter to be brought to life.

In this role we’re looking for someone who

  • Has a real drive to connect with MSC colleagues and external stakeholders alike; including press and media agencies;
  • Understands and appreciates the fish and marine landscape and can get inspired by some of the technical aspects of sustainable fisheries;
  • Is an agile and dynamic team player, who is as comfortable working solo on a blog post as they are across a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Can create compelling and strategically important content that can be developed and delivered across our UK channels and in the media;
  • Is able to spot a PR opportunity in order to  communicate the full journey MSC products take, from fishery to dinner plate.

We’re an international organisation and our employees all demonstrate a level of cultural awareness, and value the diverse views and approaches relevant to the MSC program.

The MSC is committed to flexible working. All MSC’s UK employees are currently working remotely, and we would expect to continue to offer flexibility as restrictions are lifted.

If this has inspired you, please apply here!

We look forward to hearing from you!
