ES Landscape Planning and Design is seeking a talented Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing team within the ES Group.

As a senior landscape architect, you will play a crucial role in our projects and client relationships, taking the design lead on projects at all stages, with a particular focus on early RIBA stages. You will support our comprehensive range of services to cover all aspects of landscape planning and design, from initial site appraisals, concept feasibility studies and massing appraisals, preparation of landscape and visual impact appraisals, site masterplanning and detailed design through to technical detailing, implementation on site and with supervision and reporting.
You will be involved in commercial, residential, public realm, and educational projects, including work with independent schools and prestigious institutions like Oxford and Cambridge colleges. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with leading design practices and ambitious clients.
Key responsibilities:
- project leadership: lead projects independently and manage small teams to deliver exceptional landscape designs
- mentorship: guide and mentor junior colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- client collaboration: engage with clients to understand their needs, present projects to planning authorities and quality review panels, and participate in design reviews
- technical expertise: support the continued development of knowledge across ES Group apply a high level of knowledge and expertise to address complex planning matters, sustainable principles, technical detailing, horticulture, arboriculture and environmental matters, public engagement, and co-design
- design excellence: demonstrate design flair and a deep understanding of the design process and project delivery through all RIBA stages
- communication: demonstrate excellent oral and written skills and produce high-quality reports, presentations, and graphics to effectively communicate design concepts to a range of stakeholders including clients, design professionals and members of the public
Qualifications and experience:
- a Planning and or design-based degree in Landscape Architecture, architecture, urban design, or related fields
- minimum of five years of professional experience in landscape practice in the UK
- proficiency in relevant design software, including AutoCad/ Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite and Lumion (a plus)
- strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to planning officers, public engagement and stakeholder presentations and at design reviews
- ability to lead and inspire project teams and clients
