As our Senior Fundraising Officer (SFO) you’ll play an important role in both leading and helping to shape Groundwork’s income generation and project development across the south of England. This is a new role, presenting a fantastic opportunity to join our supportive, lively and expanding team of passionate fundraisers!
The SFO will be responsible for identifying and securing funds towards a wide range of social and environmental projects, as well as managing an ongoing portfolio of projects in need of funding. This will involve generating income from statutory sources, trusts and foundations; you’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to identify significant/suitable statutory and major grant income sources before making approaches to the relevant funders and partners. The SFO will manage the tendering and application process, and support the development of programmes and projects. You will be responsible for the development, writing and submission of tenders and major grant applications, and for positioning Groundwork on relevant Frameworks. With support from the Head of Fundraising, you will identify, devise and implement new systems/processes to improve efficiencies and maximise income in line with the Fundraising strategy and annual income targets.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in writing high value (>£100k) bids and tenders
- Confidence in writing creative and compelling proposals for targeted funders
- Excellent relationship building skills and experience of line managing staff
- An ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks
- An ability to take the initiative in identifying and proactively developing new Fundraising & Development opportunities.
- An interest/ passion for creating greener, more sustainable communities
