Description  
The Senior Energy Projects Officer will join the Carbon Reduction Projects and Policy Service at Nottingham City Council, playing a key role in Nottingham's ambition to become a Carbon Neutral City by 2028. This fixed term position for 2 years has a starting salary of £29,577 (level 1) rising to £31,346 (level 2) on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period. 
           
The successful candidate will work on some of the Council's most exciting and innovative energy projects, including our minewater pilot and domestic retofit programme, as well as supporting the Midlands Energy Hub in their regional project delivery. The role is key to achieving the UK's first Carbon Neutral City.
            
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Significant experience in the application of Project Management practical techniques to enable monitoring and control of individual programmes and projects; experience of successfully delivering complex and high value projects.
  • Experience of working in an energy function and engaging with other service areas such as finance, property, maintenance, legal and procurement.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills to identify anomalous data and discover the reasons driving change.
  • Self-motivated, conscientious and able to motivate other staff, particularly within the project team. An ability to work flexibly to changing demands and tight timescales
