What you’ll be doing

As Lead Ecologist for Thames Water Capital Delivery in the Thames Valley team, you would be a key member of the Technical Assurance team, working closely with the Environmental Technical Assurance Engineers. You would work on an exciting and diverse range of water sector projects.

  • Be responsible for complex ecological issues within a project context.
  • Understand the principles of relevant legislation and policy.
  • Review assessments including, Biodiversity Metrics, Preliminary Ecological Appraisal, Ecological Impact Assessment and Habitats Regulation Assessment.
  • Assist in embedding biodiversity into our programme and streamline reporting.
  • Work collaboratively to prepare well-written, concise reports, to present results and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Liaising with ecologists in our partner companies to achieve effective de-risking.

What you should bring to the role

  • Degree qualified in Ecology, Conservation, Earth Sciences or a related topic.
  • Full member of the Charted Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management
  • Have a strong background in delivering and assuring BNG.
