Groundwork London is a social and environmental regeneration charity, delivering over 500 projects each year aimed at: supporting people to gain skills and secure employment; reducing our environmental impact through energy, water efficiency and behaviour change; and engaging communities and enterprise in improving their environment.
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our award-winning Geospatial and Data Services (GDS) Team. As part of Groundwork London's GDS team you will play a central role in delivering exciting and challenging geospatial and data management projects across London and the UK. Our GDS team has been providing geospatial and data management services for over 15 years. With expertise in a broad range of spatial analysis, strategic mapping and data management, we specialise in interactive web map design, data visualisations and custom database applications for improving business processes.
The Senior Data Analyst is a key member of the GDS team and will bring experience and ideas in developing and maintaining bespoke data and geospatial solutions to strengthen our own work and for a wide range of clients. Working with and supporting the Head of Geospatial and Data Services and wider team, the post holder will lead the design, development and management of spatial and non-spatial database applications; support spatial data analysis; manage and deliver a variety of projects, from neighbourhood and community mapping to developing and supporting contract management systems and databases.
We are looking for a motivated and innovative individual who is proficient in managing data from diverse sources and is able to work with people from a range of disciplines. You will be experienced in Microsoft Office (Excel/Access), with excellent knowledge and understanding of any relational databases (Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and common scripting languages (Python, R). Familiarity of any geospatial software (ESRI / Open Source) and data visualisation will be an added advantage, though not essential. Exposure to any CRM applications (Zoho Creator / Salesforce) will be a bonus. With the right attitude any variation around this is fine: aptitude and understanding data, and its usage, is far more important than specific tools. In addition to your extensive technical skills, you will be an excellent project manager and communicator, will be able to develop strong relationships with your colleagues and clients, and support a professional team and service culture.
