Aberdeenshire (home based)

Duration: 1 March 2019 – 30 September 2019

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and skilled person to carry out practical management on our four reserves in Aberdeenshire, and assist other staff at our Spey Bay reserve in Moray.

The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of practical conservation tasks. This will include;

  • Strimming paths
  • Cutting meadows
  • Carrying out minor repairs on existing structures
  • Spraying regenerating sycamore
  • Drainage works
  • Work with and support our team of volunteers
  • Lead occasional guided walks and public events
  • Carry out biological recording in particular Herbivore Impact Assessments
  • Provide a staff presence in Aberdeenshire, occasionally attending appropriate meetings

Applicants for all posts should be education to a minimum of HNC level in Countryside Management (or similar) with have experience in delivering wildlife related public events, and practical wildlife site management.  Commitment to nature conservation, good communication skills, enthusiasm and self-motivation are essential.  The positions will require regular weekend, evenings and public holiday working.

A full driving licence will be an advantage. 

Starting Salary: £16,380 per annum

Status: all posts are based on a fixed term contract with full-time working hours (35 hours per week) unless otherwise stated.  Job-share applicants are welcome.
