Duration:  mid March 2019 – mid September 2019

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and skilled person to work alongside the Falls of Clyde team at the popular Falls of Clyde Wildlife Reserve, part of the Clyde Valley Woodlands National Nature Reserve. Main duties will include patrolling the wildlife reserve, delivering public events, undertaking practical conservation work and carrying out biological recording. The role will include regular evening and weekend working.

The successful candidate will:

  • Patrol the wildlife reserve and promote site safety to visitors of the site
  • Undertake a wide range of practical conservation tasks
  • Work with and support our team of volunteers
  • Lead guided walks and public events
  • Deliver our Dipper Watch public engagement events throughout the summer
  • Carry out biological recording
  • Help run environmental education activities for school groups and the public
  • Actively recruit members to the Scottish Wildlife

This post is eligible for a Disclosure Scotland check and membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.

Applicants for all posts should be education to a minimum of HNC level in Countryside Management (or similar) with have experience in delivering wildlife related public events, and practical wildlife site management.  Commitment to nature conservation, good communication skills, enthusiasm and self-motivation are essential.  The positions will require regular weekend, evenings and public holiday working.

A full driving licence will be an advantage. 

Starting Salary: £16,380 per annum

Status: all posts are based on a fixed term contract with full-time working hours (35 hours per week) unless otherwise stated.  Job-share applicants are welcome.
