Seasonal Herb Field Worker

Organic Herb Trading is looking for two seasonal team members to work in our two-acre herb field in Milverton, Somerset.

Over 60 different varieties of our herbs are home grown in our herb field, and everything is done by hand from composting and bed forming to propagation and harvesting and of course plenty of weeding!

Organic Herb Trading have been growing, sourcing, and supplying the UK’s largest supply of botanicals for almost 40 years. We have a diverse and loyal base of customers including Neal’s Yard Remedies, Pukka Teas, Yeo Valley and Riverford Organic.

This is a great opportunity for someone to learn about all aspects of organic herb growing from propagation through to harvesting and drying as well as general maintenance. The role will support our Herb Field Manager, Sarah Weston, who is passionate about organic growing and is keen to share her extensive knowledge and expertise.

Successful candidates will need to have previous growing experience, good plant knowledge, be physically fit and strong, enjoy working as a team, good time keeping and a passion for organic growing and herbs as well as a positive can-do attitude as we work whatever the weather! Reliable transport to get to site is essential due to our rural location.

  • 6-month fixed term contract (April – September 2022)
  • Monday – Friday, 36.5 hours per week (8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am-3.30pm Friday with some occasional weekend work)
