The Job: The post holder will work closely with the Nature and Wellbeing Officer and Project Lead, Director of Engagement, West Kent Mind, Sevenoaks District Council, Involve Kent and other project partners in delivering the Take Root Project, reducing isolation and loneliness in later life, as a result of engaging with and connecting with nature-focussed activities. This will include leading mindfulness and health walks, leading practical conservation tasks, wildlife gardening, wildlife monitoring and watching, and organising wellbeing events. This is an interesting and challenging opportunity to work at the centre of this busy charity and offer wellbeing benefits to participants through engagement with nature and wildlife.
You: will have experience of delivering community engagement projects, preferably for wellbeing outcomes. You are a good communicator with emotional and social intelligence, and able to effectively work with a range of people, including leading volunteers, from different backgrounds and with different access requirements. You will maintain communication and good working relations with project partners and referral organisations, and have social media and marketing awareness to promote the project. You will have an awareness of positive wellbeing and good mental health, and with your conservation knowledge, will have a good understanding of how nature can play a role in this.
