This is an exciting role (part of the research collaboration of Eastern New Energy) that will involve rolling out the retrofit project using industry leading tools to analyse the regional housing stock, build a locally led cooperative membership and delivering a retrofit scheme that supports the local region in meeting carbon emission targets.

The Retrofit Project Manager will ensure the retrofit scheme delivers a high quality service to its customers whilst adhering to all contractual and regulatory requirements. You will be required to support the growth of the RetrofitWorks cooperative by working with future and current members, who will be local SMEs who will deliver the retrofit project in Cambridge.

What will you be doing?

Initially, you will be working with the MD in setting up the project by:

  • Building relationships with current and prospective local Retrofit members in order to set the project up for success
  • Creating the business and financial model for the project to ensure it stays within budget
  • Identify customer types and works needed and work with RetrofitWorks marketing team to create campaigns
  • Provide governance to the multi-organisational Project Board to ensure the project is being led appropriately through the members

And have responsibility for delivering the project by:

  • Driving all aspects of the project towards successful implementation and hitting the targets set for customers and turnover
  • Recruiting the local team to deliver the project, including administration staff and retrofit coordinators
  • Ensuring customer service targets are met and all compliance is adhered to
  • Ensuring all key milestones are delivered on time and on budget

The role of Retrofit Project Manager would suit someone who thrives on delivering high levels of customer service in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. With good project management and organisation skills, having experience in the construction/retrofit industry would be an advantage but we are keen to hear from people from all sectors with transferable skills. We are seeking someone with a positive, can-do attitude who enjoys communicating with people at all levels, influencing others to achieve goals and is driven to succeed.

In order to succeed, you will need excellent communication and administration skills with the ability to influence and manage others. Some knowledge of retrofit or grant funding would help but if you’re passionate about energy efficiency and a fast learner, then this would also be great.

What’s in it for you?

We are on a mission to make the UK’s housing stock more energy efficient and reduce our carbon emissions and we want passionate people to join us on our exciting journey.
