Help improve Scotland’s rivers.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is responsible for protecting and improving Scotland's unique and beautiful environment in ways that, as far as possible, creates social and economic benefits.

This is your chance to be part of a team that delivers improvements to the physical condition of Scotland’s rivers.   You will be responsible for taking forward a portfolio of projects that improve the morphology of urban and rural rivers and remove barriers to fish migration. You will provide technical advice on river restoration and have detailed knowledge of one or more of the following as they relate to river restoration; hydromorphology, fisheries management, restoration engineering or contract procurement and management of restoration ground works. Your excellent communication skills will be used to promote our aspirations, opportunities and to deliver environmental improvements with social and economic benefits. Your ability to work with stakeholders will enable you to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners. In this role you will oversee a portfolio of projects and be responsible for the robust appraisal and financial governance of projects that receive grant funding plus those that you directly commission. You will have very strong skills in working with others and within a team.

Qualified to at least degree level in a relevant discipline, you will bring detailed knowledge of river restoration techniques along with the multiple benefits from river restoration, including biodiversity, flood risk management, diffuse pollution, fisheries and urban regeneration. You will have experience of supporting river restoration schemes and implementing environmental improvement opportunities.

Bring your expert skills and experience to our team and help us create a sustainable legacy for future generations.

Join SEPA and you will benefit from competitive salaries, flexible working arrangements, the opportunity to join our pension scheme, and many other excellent benefits
