Can you work confidently with large amounts of data and spot trends and issues easily? Are you passionate about using your skills to inform work that plays an essential part in understanding the environmental impact of transport? If so, we are looking for a hardworking Renewable Fuels Data Officer to join us at the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) unit, and we'd love to hear from you.
Job description
You will manage the production of quarterly statistical reports for the RTFO, checking the presentation and accuracy of both written and numerical content and ensuring that headline messages are communicated. You will also play an important role in the delivery of the RTFO, helping to ensure it continues to be a well-run scheme which commands the confidence of fuel suppliers and Ministers. This is an important period for the RTFO unit, having just implemented changes to the RTFO and a new greenhouse gas targets for fuel suppliers. You will have a key role in measuring one of the Departments main schemes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from road transport.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for: • Producing and publishing quarterly Renewable Fuel statistics • Reporting on the UK’s progress towards renewable transport fuel targets, including managing and producing an annual report to Parliament, and reporting to the European Commission • Improving the understanding and communication of renewable transport statistics by using innovative data science approaches • Providing statistical evidence for operational delivery of the monthly application process in the RTFO Unit • Monitoring trends in data to support the detection of fraud in the renewable transport fuel sector • Managing statistical data to respond to requests from the policy team, analysts and stakeholders For a full list of responsibilities please refer to the attached role profile. You also have outstanding stakeholder management skills and the capability to support collaborative delivery and build multiple relationships in a fast paced and high-profile environment. You will be someone who enjoys working collaboratively with different business areas and can naturally build rapport from which you can build solid relationships.
