Description

As Senior Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for managing all development and commercial matters relating to Coillte’s portfolio of renewable energy projects including onshore wind, solar and battery throughout the development life-cycle from inception to delivery.

 

Role Specific Terms

This is a permanent role based in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow.

Responsibilities

End-to-end delivery of a portfolio of renewable energy projects throughout the development, commercial (route to market, procurement, funding) and construction phases:

  • Preparation and presentation of business case proposals for individual projects, as part of the Capital Budget Approvals process;
  • Identification of key project risks and leading the assessment process;
  • Procurement and commercial management of specialist technical service providers and key contractors;
  • Ongoing budgetary responsibility for project delivery

Leadership and management of a team of Development Managers and technical specialists to deliver the portfolio of projects including;

  • Stakeholder management and consultation;
  • Project controls, governance, and performance management; and
  • Construction safety management and environmental management.

Contribution to refinement and execution of the Renewable Energy business strategy;

Advising on renewable energy policy and market framework consultations;

Representing Coillte’s Renewable Energy business through participation in key industry forums;

Continuous underpinning of the Coillte brand though high performance and quality delivery of projects.

Professional & Technical Competencies

  • Third level qualification to HETAC Level 8 in relevant discipline
  • 7+ years’ experience in large scale programme management in an infrastructure environment, including:
    • Experience of managing a portfolio of projects from planning, commercial procurement, financing, construction and commissioning
    • Delivery record deploying best in class project management and planning skills
  • In-depth understanding of key elements of the renewable energy market, including:
    • Resource assessment, and technology selection processes along with competency in the strategic site selection processes
    • Planning, permitting and delivery of grid connections for energy projects
    • Project economics and financing models
    • Energy markets and renewable energy policy
    • Community engagement and participation models
  • Strong commercial, leadership and stakeholder management track record, including:
    • Experience of leading a development team
    • Experience of managing diverse stakeholders/service providers/partners
    • Experience managing technical experts (both in-house and external)
