Description

The role of the Regional Conservation Manager is to lead BC’s conservation work across the South East England region, managing our staff team (currently four) as well as working with partner organisations and our volunteer network on collaborative actions to meet our strategic objectives. This role also leads the management of our six nature reserves in the South East, working closely with reserve staff and volunteers to maintain and improve the condition of our sites while helping influence habitat management in the surrounding landscape.

This challenging role is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead innovative conservation action across some of the region’s most precious landscapes, including BC’s reserves, working closely with BC staff and our volunteer Branches as well as working with a range of partners. We are looking for an experienced conservation professional who can combine their ecological skills with the ability to build effective partnerships to drive conservation action. You will lead a small team to make a big impact, saving species and restoring landscapes at scale and seeing your work in the South East contribute to a UK-wide programme of nature recovery.

For informal enquiries please contact our Senior Conservation Manager, Caroline Bulman at cbulman@butterfly-conservation.org

Closing date midday Monday 28 March 2022. Interview date: Thursday 7 April 2022
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. No agencies please.
