Are you passionate about invertebrates and their conservation? Do you want to live and work in one of the most scenic and biodiverse areas of the UK and make a difference to the conservation needs of some of the country's rarest insects? We are looking for a self motivated and enthusiastic project officer to run the Rare Invertebrates in the Cairngorms project, a new project based in the Caringorms National Park.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day delivery of the project including; • Surveying for prioirty invertebrate species across the national park. • Recruiting, training and managing a team of volunteers to assist the project. • Engaging with landowners regarding the conservation management of rare species. • Raising awareness and enthusing those living within, and visiting the park on the amazing diversity of invertebrate life found within the Cairngorms. • Providing regular updates to the project steering group and writing quarterly reports to fulfill funding requirements. This is a 3 year partnership project between RSPB Scotland, Cairngorms National Park, Buglife, Butterfly Conservation and Scottish Natural Heritage.
