Ranger, Community Relations, Kapiti Wellington Area Office

Wellington Hawke's Bay Conservancy

Kapiti Wellington Area is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person to become a member of its Community Relations Team. The purpose of this position is to deliver public awareness and community relations tasks; in particular, projects involving promotions, marketing and sponsorship. 

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication and relationship skills and experience. You will have the following skills, proven experience and attributes:

  • experience in building and maintaining relationships in a multi-cultural environment, working with tangata whenua, communities, volunteers, other agencies and business
  • a strong background/experience in publishing, marketing and promotions
  • excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate effectively with all people that conservation is an investment in New Zealand that requires everyone to work together
  • the strong ability to be a collaborative team member.

Some knowledge of Tikanga Maori would be an advantage.
