Ranger, Captive Breeding, Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre, Wairarapa Area 

Wellington Hawke's Bay Conservancy

We are seeking a suitably qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our captive breeding team at Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre.

You will be responsible for planning and managing captive breeding projects and for supporting team priorities and projects. You will also develop and build relationships with external groups to support their conservation/restoration programmes.

You will have experience working with and caring for wildlife, either in paid or unpaid work.

The successful applicant will enjoy working in a team and be an able communicator, with the ability to confidently engage a small group or a crowd. You will be hard-working, have a positive attitude and be motivated to achieving your goals and those of your team. You will demonstrate a high degree of initiative and independence, yet you will be able to work to a routine in a dynamic environment.

It is desirable that you possess zoology and/or ecology qualifications or similar.

Work is organised across a seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays. You will have a high level of physical fitness and confidence in order to undertake the necessary workload.

You will hold a current New Zealand driver's licence.
