Description

South Gloucestershire Council is working with the Environment Agency, Bristol City Council, Wessex Water and the Bristol Avon Catchment Partnership (BACP) to assess the potential to undertake a Water Space Project for the Bristol Frome river corridor in South Gloucestershire. To support the development of this project, funding has been made available to employ a project officer to undertake a feasibility study. This will scope the scale and remit of the potential Water Space Project. The Study will importantly identify and secure the funding required to deliver the Water Space Project moving forwards.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate experience of feasibility and business case preparation within the context of water and river catchment planning.

We welcome applications from people with appropriate qualifications and direct experience of this work area, as well as those who may be wishing to branch out from their current work area and who have transferable skills to offer.

You must be articulate and able to effectively convey ideas and concepts to a wider audience, while also demonstrating an understanding of technical aspects of the delivery process.

This is a highly rewarding role in terms of the contribution you will make towards influencing the strategy and policies that will shape and enable the delivery of a more resilient water environment for the well-being of wildlife, people and our local economy through a catchment-based approach.
