Description  

Through a partnership between the Administration of National Conservation Areas in Mozambique (ANAC) and PPF, applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following positions for the Zinave National Park (an integral part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park).  An initial two-year contract will be awarded to the successful candidates who will be based in Zinave National Park. Project Manager - Zinave National Park The contract could be extended for a further two years.

The Project Manager is expected to be an achiever who has already made a mark in the conservation arena of Southern Africa and is expected to be a dynamic and innovative manager with good organising, public relations, project management and leadership skills. The Project Manager will report to a Project Steering Committee (PSC), and will be the leader of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) to oversee the implementation of the Project. The following is a summary of the main responsibilities: • Coordinate the implementation of technical activities to achieve the project objectives • Compile Annual Project Implementation Plans with the other members of the PIU and management team • In close collaboration with the Park Administrator, ensure that the plans of the various programmes are implemented, viz Administration and Finance, Park Operations and Protection, Community Development, Ecological Management, Tourism Development, Infrastructure Development and Maintenance  • Ensure that technical transfer is carried out in the project and the training activities proceed as planned • Ensure  Project Monitoring and Evaluation Systems are in place to facilitate effective management and supervision at various levels.
