Description  

We are seeking a Programme Officer to join our Ecosystem Assessments and Policy Support Programme who will play a key role in delivering exciting and rapidly growing work in the areas of natural capital and ecosystem accounting.

You’ll principally be supporting a portfolio of work on preparation of ecosystem accounts and their promotion as an important tool to mainstream biodiversity considerations into decision-making across multiple related sectors. You will provide technical insights and knowledge; undertake data analyses to support the creation of ecosystem and biodiversity accounts, prepare technical reports; present the  Centre’s work at conferences and meetings with  international partners; lead the delivery of projects and identify new project opportunities.

You will have had a minimum of three years’ experience of work on  biodiversity projects with international relevance, be familiar with analysis of large datasets and standards required to deliver trusted results, and understand the principles of ecosystem accounting and their wider relevance to promotion of a natural capital approach. You will show a willingness to take on new challenges and acquire new knowledge, and to articulate clearly your knowledge of biodiversity and ecosystem services. It’s important that you are an excellent writer with an eye for detail, a confident and engaging verbal communicator, and can deliver work on time, on budget and on message.
