Description

The Programme Officer will advise and assist the RWFA to execute the Landscape restoration and integrated water resources management Programme as the overall coordinator of Hub, to promote scale up of Landscape restoration principles, support district planning and promote good practice in institutions especially at the catchment and District levels and report to the Programme Team Leader.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

In accordance with the Programme Document, the Programme officer shall carry out the following activities:-

•Overall coordination of various partner planning and implementation of workplans (SNV, RWFA, Districts and other project partners)
•Liaise with implementing organizations in demonstration catchments to ensure efficient coordination and implementation;
•Strengthen capacities of organizations in catchments in landscape restoration and IWRM;
•Facilitate integrated analysis and planning in catchments;
•Assure the supervision of the work in the catchments;
•Assist the international specialists in the performance of their tasks;
•Contribute to sections for project reports on the progress of IWRM;
•Produce material on Landscape restoration and IWRM issues and lessons for other project publications and workshops;
•Support gender integration and equity in all activities;
•Support data collection using modern tools, data analysis and data reporting using GIS;
•Any other activities that may be required from time to time and that are in line with the overall purpose of the TA and the Programme Officer's role in the TA team.
•Ensure effective logistical coordination of project at field level including but not limited to missions, transport and other local office management.
•Perform any other task as advised by the team leader.
