You will be a key member of a new team within the Strategic Partnerships Directorate of NERC, the Programme Coordination and Delivery team. This team is responsible for the secretariat of complex, multi-partner, research programmes and leading best practice in programme governance and evaluation.
You will be responsible for providing best practice support and assurance to all NERC teams delivering environmental research programme evaluation, as part of a new team of experts within the Strategic Partnerships Directorate.
You will also be responsible for coordinating and delivering NERC led programmes with complex governance structures and multiple partners, particularly the Strategic Priorities Fund (SPF) and the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF).
You will be:
- Provision of best practice for NERC SPF Programmes and business cases through all stages of development, delivery and completion, including:
- financial best practice;
- commercial offer best practice;
- management and governance best practice;
- economic offer best practice.
- Secretariat of SPF Programmes with complex governance structures (including Clean Air, UK Climate Resilience and Greenhouse Gas Removal Demonstrators), including working with stakeholders to devise and support appropriate governance structures with multiple delivery partners.
- Provision of best practice advice on evaluation for NERC programmes and processes
You will need:
- Graduate level understanding of the environmental sciences and how research works
- Experience of project or programme management
- Demonstrable understanding of the science areas supported by NERC
