Description

Ribble Rivers Trust (RRT) is the lead partner in the Ribble Life Together project, which as a catchment scale project is delivering a range of activities to improve the condition, management and awareness of the Ribble Catchment.  The project brings together over 20 stakeholder and interest groups to develop and deliver a catchment action plan that will bring immediate and lasting benefits for people and the environment.  Funding for this project has come from a variety of partners and sources, including the Heritage Lottery Fund.

As part of this project the Trust is looking to recruit an experienced and technically competent, dynamic and enthusiastic person to manage the development of the programme of activities within the development phase of the Ribble Life Together project.

The Ribble Life Partnership has identified a range of activities that are required to improve the management and physical condition of the Ribble Catchment.  Many of the activities will be delivered in partnership with other organisations, consultants and by a team of project officers.  The scale of the project requires the appointment of a dedicated Programme Manager.  As well as managing the activities of a range of project officers and development of activities, the role will be responsible for collating the outcomes of the development phase and with the assistance of the Trust Director, writing and submitting the Delivery Phase application to the Heritage Lottery Fund.

We are therefore looking for a confident and clear communicator with extensive experience in project management, partnership projects and writing large scale funding applications.  The successful candidate will have experience of landscape-scale conservation, ecosystem services, rivers, catchment ecology and the Water Framework Directive.

  • Co-ordination and management the programme of activities within the development phase of Ribble Life Together
  • Aiding in the development of certain project activities

  • Identifying changes and risk and implement suitable process to manage these
  • Ensuring that evaluation data is captured from the outset of the project
  • Managing a small team of employees to aid in the development of Ribble Life Together
  • Ensuring works are completed to deadline and in budget
  • Managing any contract & agreement variations that may arise
  • Monitoring progress and providing an evaluation report to the Ribble Life Partnership, Trust Director and the Heritage Lottery Fund at regular periods
  • Undertaking presentations to partners, community groups and others to share learning from the project
  • Working with the Trust Director and partners to identify and apply for match funding for Ribble Life Together
  • Combine the development, evaluation and other actions into a delivery phase plan, and work with the Trust Director to write and submit a 2nd phase application to the Heritage Lottery Fund
  • Contributing and assisting in the production of publicity and marketing materials
  • Any other duties as required by the RRT

The post holder will be based principally within RRT offices in Clitheroe.  The post will report to the Trust Director.
