MSC operates the world’s most successful global fisheries certification and eco-labelling program. We celebrate, promote and add value to sustainable fisheries and through the leadership of our partners, create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they fish the oceans. Over 300 fisheries and 34,000 supply chain sites around the world are engaged with the MSC’s sustainable fishery or Chain of Custody (traceability) standards, and the programme continues to grow.

Information on the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Product Integrity (Traceability) Manager to join the MSC’s Chain of Custody team, which works with seafood businesses, governments, and NGOs around the world to ensure the traceability and integrity of MSC eco-labelled products.  You will be in charge of several strategic projects focused on improving the consistency and rigour of the MSC’s global supply chain traceability programme. You will be part of an enthusiastic and talented global team, with lots of opportunities to build new skills and knowledge.  Please see the job description attached for further information.

In this role, the Product Integrity Manager will be responsible for

  •  Helping to develop and ensure rigorous, commercially-relevant, and cost-effective traceability standards and auditing approaches.
  •  Providing communication, training, and capacity building on the MSC’s supply chain standards to a broad range of global companies, from primary processers to restaurants to major global corporate retailers. 
  •  Maintaining and building strategic relationships with key MSC’s stakeholders such as international government agencies, other standards setters, commercial partners and NGOs.
  •     Maintaining and overseeing quality internal systems and processes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  •    In-depth and practical understanding of global supply chains, certification systems, and/or key issues related to traceability systems.
  •  Strong project management capabilities with a track record of delivering complex projects within tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and systematic problem solving skills.
  •  Excellent communication skills, with particular emphasis on written abilities and translation of technical information.
  •  Relevant post-graduate qualifications.

Ideally, you will also have experience in at least one of the following areas:

  •   Standard development, preferably within Supply Chain/Traceability.
  •    Seafood industry, food supply chains or food safety systems management.
  •  Quality Assurance, certification or inspection programmes.  
  • Managing the development or implementation of technology projects related to supply chains or auditing.
