The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) works to safeguard the world’s seafood supply by promoting the best environmental choice in seafood through the use of its logo. We celebrate, promote and add value to sustainable fisheries.

 

Through the leadership of our partners, we help create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they fish the oceans.

 

Over 300 fisheries around the world, landing 12 % of the annual global harvest, are now engaged at some stage of the MSC’s independent assessment process. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in around 100 countries.

 

Information on the role

 

Are you ready to make a positive impact on global sustainability in MSC’s international fishery certification and eco-labelling programme? Seize this opportunity to join the MSC’s Science and Standards Department.

 

The Policy Systems Manager will report to the Senior Policy Manager.  The post's overriding aim is to produce and manage systems to ensure the effective delivery of MSC’s policy development. You will be responsible for managing change to MSC’s Standards documents, managing the Science and Standards department’s Quality Management System and undertaking benchmarking activities of the MSC Standards against other sustainability standards. You will also track progress of all MSC’s policy improvements throughout the development process.

 

The successful candidate will be educated to master’s degree level in a sustainable development or environmental discipline, have project management and policy development experience, have excellent organisational skills and a preference for paying close attention to detail.  Other preferred skills are outlined in the Job Description.
