Description  

NYCC Planning Services play a fundamental role in managing the natural and built environment ensuring the future development needs of the county can be accommodated to make it a better place in which to live and work. Due to a department review NYCC are looking to recruit a number of posts within Planning Services. As a Planner you will assess land use, social, economic and environmental factors in relation to planning application determinations, on-going site operations and final restoration and/or after care schemes.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to:

Hold a post-graduate Diploma in Town Planning

Have attained Charter membership of the RTPI to be appointed Band 14

Significant experience of undertaking the regulatory functions of a Planning Authority, encompassing minerals and waste planning and Council-commissioned development

Location: Base County Hall, Northallerton, however flexible working including working from other NYCC offices around the County
