Description

Are you ready to make a positive impact on global sustainability in the MSC’s international fishery certification and ecolabelling programme? Seize this opportunity to join the MSC’s Peer Review College (PRC).

The PRC provides the services of independent peer reviewers who give comments on the draft fishery assessment reports written by third party certifiers.  The PRC Officer supports a PRC Manager in this task by providing the administrative support necessary to ensure overall programme effectiveness and credibility.  The post involves short-listing of peer reviewers, using defined criteria, providing opportunities for stakeholder comments on their suitability, and contracting the selected reviewers.

This post will also provide some support for other key activities of the Science and Standards team, particularly for the administration of the Online Training Platform.  Communication will be needed with other MSC departments including the Executive Committee and members of the MSC’s governance bodies.  Externally, the post holder will develop relationships with people at all levels, from very different interests and backgrounds including NGOs, the commercial sector, science / academia, fishing industry and governments.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree or equivalent level in administration, environmental sciences, or other discipline relevant to the role, and have excellent organisational skills and a preference for paying close attention to detail. Other preferred skills are outlined in the job description.
