In these entry level roles you will work in a supportive environment as part of a team of staff undertaking development management and planning casework, SRDP, designated site management, partnership working and provide general natural heritage advice to key stakeholders. The successful post holders will have a relevant qualification to degree level in a related subject, such as a natural science (e.g. biology, ecology, zoology, botany, geology, and geography), environmental management, planning or landscape architecture.
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with the following range of skills:- • Knowledge and experience of species ecology, habitat management, land use and natural heritage issues • Sound understanding of the Scottish planning system and experience of work relevant to SNH's engagement in the planning system • Knowledge and experience of relevant conservation legislation • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work in partnership, to foster good relations and to encourage actions by others • Excellent organisational and time management skills and judgement to effectively prioritise a high volume of reactive and proactive workload • Communication skills, both written and verbal including IT • Driving licence or other means of transport
